Sony Webbie and Upgrades

So, it’s been a while around here since we did a Raw Footage video. We’d been waiting on some new Sony camcorders to come in, namely some of their new MHS-CM1s, known by the far friendlier name of “Webbie HD.” These are the bigger of 2 new Sony models gunning and gunning hard for Flip’s vast market of more-or-less point-and-shoot video. The idea is simple enough, keep the features and buttons low, focus on affordability. What Sony has brought to the table are two models which record full 1080p HD video to MemoryStick Pro cards. One is a small, nay, tiny device very similar to the legendary Flip, but with the notable distinction of having a swiveling lens. And, for not a heck of a lot more, there sits the MHS-CM1, with an unmatched traditional form factor, swing and rotate LCD, 5x optical zoom, LED light, and 5 megapixel still capture. All for less than 200 bucks. Now, that’s about as sweet as it gets at the wallet-friendly end of high def camcorders.

So, without further ado, here’s the first video we’ve shot from a Webbie HD camcorder, while demoing a Webbie HD camcorder. It’s like those mirror looking in a mirror photos…
